NHU Ecology and Detection Dogs – Terms and Conditions for Training Events and Online Purchases

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a course or workshop.

By placing a booking, you are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms in full.

 

1. Contract of Sale

By completing the booking process and making payment, you are entering into a contract with NHU Ecology and Detection Dogs. This contract is governed by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.

  • You will not be able to attend an event unless full payment has been received.

  • We accept payment by PayPal or bank transfer (BACS).

​

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 50% of the total fee is considered a non-refundable deposit.

  • If you cancel your booking, you will be refunded the remaining 50% only.

  • If you are able to find a replacement participant or sell your space, you may receive a full refund, provided the replacement is confirmed with us in advance.

4. Photography, Video & Audio Recording

  • No photography, video, or audio recording is permitted at our events without prior written permission.

  • Where permission is granted, participants may only photograph or film their own dog unless express consent is obtained from others.

  • Audio recording is not permitted under any circumstances, including within videos (all videos must be muted).

  • NHU Ecology and Detection Dogs reserves the right to take photographs, videos, or audio recordings during events for promotional or educational use.

  • If you share content from an event on social media, please credit NHU Ecology and Detection Dogs appropriately.

5. Non-Registered Dogs

  • Non-participant dogs may attend in exceptional cases but must remain quiet and comfortable in a vehicle during the event.

  • These dogs must be exercised only in designated areas and must not disrupt the event.

6. Bitches in Season

  • If your registered dog comes into season prior to the event, please contact us immediately.

  • Participation may still be possible depending on the event and location.

​

7. Illness, Injury or Contagious Disease

  • Please do not bring any animal that is unwell, injured, or has recently been in contact with a contagious disease.

  • If such circumstances arise shortly before the event, contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options.

8. Behaviour & Safety

  • All attendees are expected to behave responsibly, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of themselves, other participants, and all dogs.

  • Harsh, forceful, or aversive handling will not be tolerated.

  • Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor work where required.

  • Attendees must follow all safety guidance provided at the venue.

9. Liability Disclaimer

NHU Ecology and Detection Dogs and its representatives do not accept liability for any:

  • Loss

  • Damage

  • Injury or illness to people, dogs, vehicles, or property

…arising during or as a result of participation in any event, howsoever caused.

10. Event Cancellation

  • NHU Ecology and Detection Dogs reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, illness, venue issues).

  • We will make every effort to notify attendees via email and through our Facebook page.

  • We are not liable for any costs incurred by participants, including travel or accommodation, in the event of a cancellation.
